Children's Stewardship

God: Known, loved and served with joy. What a beautiful theme we have adopted for our RE/YM/School Ministry stewardship efforts this year! We have developed a full calendar of stewardship activities for our time, talent, and treasure efforts. We kick off our year in October in support of Down Syndrome. All of our ministries are blessed with young people who live with Down Syndrome. They are vibrant, active, wonderful members of our parish family. Please pick up a flyer at RE check-in detailing the upcoming Buddy Walk on Oct. 23 to support Down Syndrome Indiana. We hope to have a great representation from Saints Francis and Clare.

Parent Sharing Day: Nov. 7.

All RE students and parents meet in the Church, 10:00 – 11:00. There are no 8:45 sessions on this day. Preschool and Kindergarten children join us all in the church that morning at 10 for our program.

Youth Ministry

March for Life 2011

Annual "March for Life" pro-life rally Washington, DC, January 21-25, 2011 depart 10pm Friday, Jan 21 and return 6am Tuesday, Jan 25. (This year's annual March for Life will be held on Monday, January 24, 2011 due to the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, January 22, falling on a weekend day.) Cost is $135 – which includes one meal, some type of clothing (sweatshirt, hat, etc.) for the March for Life, transportation, and accommodations. Additional money will be needed for other meals. If you attend RHS, see Mr. Verhiley for registration information. If you attend public school or home-schooled, register through SSFC Youth Ministry. Register NOW as seat availability is limited to one charter bus. Registration deadline will be when all seats are filled – most likely by mid-November. .

ARCHDIOCESAN SENIOR RETREAT

Make your President's Day break one you'll never forget! The Archdiocesan Senior Retreat is a four-day retreat during which high school seniors from around the Archdiocese gather for prayer, fellowship, and fun to cap off their senior year of high school and prepare them to enter into their young adult life as followers of Christ. Friday, February 18, 2011 - Monday, February 21, 2011. That Monday is President's Day so hopefully no school will be missed as a result of participating in this worth-while retreat. The retreat takes place at Camp Rancho Framasa in Nashville, IN. The $175 fee is covered for SSFC youth. ARCHDIOCESAN YOUTH COUNCIL APPLICATIONS 2011

Archdiocesan Youth Council (AYC) is comprised of high school students from throughout the Archdiocese of Indianapolis who assist in the planning and facilitation of Catholic youth events. AYC serves as a leadership team that promotes youth participation in Archdiocesan activities as well as local parish involvement and strives to strengthen and excite youth in their faith.
