Chairpersons - Dale Gick

The Family Life Commission is responsible for building community through faith based social experiences. The committees and ministries work together to meet the social needs of our parish community.

Office Volunteers

Contact Person - Sue LaRue, 859-4673 ext. 125

The Office Volunteers are scheduled to help in the parish office during regular office hours to assist the parish staff. Duties include answering the phone, greeting visitors, assisting with mailings, filing and general office duties.

Athletic Board

Athletic Director – Michael Pawlik

Facilitate the participation of parish youth in athletic programs by serving as a coach, coordinator, volunteer, or member of the athletic board. CYO Announcements.

Coffee and Donuts

Chairperson - Jerri Eder

On Sundays coffee and donuts are served after the 8:45 Mass in the Parish Hall. This is another opportunity for parishioners to get better acquainted with one another. Donuts, coffee, & juice will be served. A free will offering will be collected. Parishioners are always welcome to help staff the refreshment table on a rotating basis.

Festival Committee

Chairperson - Shelley Kehres

The Festival Committee is responsible for the planning and implementing of the annual Parish Festival.

Care Ministry

The Care Ministry takes a holistic approach to health care, bringing together faith and health to promote the wellness of and serve the needs of the parish.

  • Blood Drive – help organize the annual blood drive for the Central Indiana Regional Blood Bank at SSFC
  • Blood Pressure Screening- offered once a month.
  • Caregiver Support Group- Offer support to individual caregivers through prayer, providing information, and serving as a general support resource.
  • Bereavement Support Group—Offers comfort and opportunities for those who are bereaved.
  • Prayer Shawl Ministry—A prayer shawl is a shawl that has been knitted or crocheted for someone in which prayers and blessings have become as much a part of the fabric of the crocheted item as the yarn itself.
  • Senior Mass and Lunch-Help plan monthly Senior Mass and Lunch to offer an opportunity for spiritual and social fellowship for adults 55 and older.
  • Transportation—Provide transportation to Mass, medical appointments and other parish programs for parishioners in need of this service.
  • Visiting the Sick-Individuals in this ministry make regular visits to homes and hospitals to visit parishioners who are sick or homebound.
  • Miscellaneous health and education programs offered.
  • Assist with funeral planning.

Hospitality Committee

Chairperson - Mary McCarthy

Members of this committee would be called on to help with the preparation, presentation and cleanup of various parish celebrations. Some of these celebrations would include our parish Christmas party, pancake breakfasts, special receptions and funeral meals during the year.

Just Older Youth (J.O.Y.) Club

Chairpersons - Paul & Helen Volk, Dick & Liz Van Noy

J.O.Y. Club is a group of parishioners, ages 50 and above, who enjoy going out together socially. We planned dinners at restaurants, plays, tours, pitch-in dinners at church, lunches and day trips. We enjoy meeting new people and extend a welcome to parishioners, old and new, who would like to join us for any activity. Watch the bulletin for details on our outings.

Kitchen Committee

Chairperson - Karen Limbruner

The Kitchen Committee works together to keep the kitchen organized, cleaned, and stocked. With all the activities at the parish volunteers are needed to assist with these duties throughout the year.

Lenten Fish Fry

Chairperson - Dale Gick

Baked and fried fish dinners are served in the Parish Hall on the Fridays of Lent, excluding Good Friday. The dinner serves as a gathering time for parishioners during the Lenten season. Dinners are also available for take out. Parish Volunteers come together to prepare and serve the meal.

Men's Club

Chairperson - Mike Cooney, Vice-chair - Steve Wassel, Treasurer - Chris Vlcan

The Men's club mission is to serve the parish by providing support for service projects, by supporting CYO athletics, by supporting community outreach activities, and sponsoring the reverse raffle and parish golf outing. Meeting are usually held the 2nd Thursday of the month.

Quilters

Chairperson - JoAnn Pogue

The Quilters group meets throughout the year to work on projects. They make a handmade quilt that is auctioned off in the fall. Proceeds for this quilt benefit different ministries that the parish supports. For project information or meeting time, contact JoAnn. New members are always welcome.

Women's Club

Chairperson - Adrienne Brown

The Women's club provides opportunities for social interaction as well as support for women of the Parish. It enhances a sense of belonging to the Parish through the formation of relationships with fellow parishioners. The Women's Club is open to women of all ages. Watch bulletin announcements for future get-togethers or contact the chairperson to assist with planning opportunities.
