Welcome to our
About Us Page!

Our logo:
The SS. Francis and Clare logo we
conceived by Fr. Steve Jarrell and Jane Lee of The
Criterion Press supervised the project.
The logo contains traditional and contemporary
letters - a visual attempt to state that we, at
SS. Francis and Clare, want the best of our
Catholic tradition to have a bearing on our
faith lives today. The spherical image
calls to mind the "Canticle of Brother Sun" of
St. Francis of Assisi. The three (3) trees
suggest many things: the spirituality of SS.
Francis and Clare rooted in The Trinity, the
natural beauty of White River Township, the
"Green-wood", and a living faith which reaches
out to others. The double church spires were
added to the logo in 1997 upon the completion of
the church. The spires symbolize our two
(2) patronal saints inviting us to reach to the
heavens through the power of the cross.
Welcome to those of you who are you
visiting us here at SS. Francis & Clare!
Thank you for taking
the time to look around not only our web
site, but also our church. To help you
understand some things about us, it has been
the custom since the early church to employ
sacred art to help parishioners understand
our faith.
We here at SSFC
continue that custom. Please check out
the "Welcome to Saints Francis and Clare"
pamphlet that is located in the wall rack in
our Information Lobby. Please do not
feel like you have to stop there!
Stroll around the Narthex and our Church to
get acquainted with our sacred art.
Again, we welcome you
into our parish family!
